All-terrain pushchair that offers lightweight durability and great maneuverability. Its one-hand fold is compact, which means it’s easy to transport and also freestanding when folded. The padded seat reclines to an almost flat position and there’s a huge canopy and storage bin. Newborn suitability: Yes it comes with a carrycot (not suitable for overnight sleeping).
A good suspension and air-filled tires will allow you to handle rough terrain. You can also use it for jogging. However, you should wait until your baby is at least 6 or 9 months old.
Ickle Bubba XL Air
This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is an excellent choice for parents who want an easy-to-use buggy that has enhanced features. It comes as an entire travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for infants, a movable forward and rear facing pushchair, and a choice of group 0+ car seat, so you can get everything you need in one package.
The XL Air is a really impressive car and it’s simple to see why it’s been awarded so many praises from its customers. It’s extremely light — the chassis and wheels weigh just 6.5kg and it’s super-easy to build. In fact I was able to complete the entire setup and running in less than five minutes, which is impressive considering it included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!
The seat is wide and comfortable for Annie who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to operate. There’s plenty of room inside the basket and I like the fact that it comes with an open-top pocket on the handle bar so you can keep your keys and phone secure!
The only downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be a problem for taller parents. However, it’s encased in a lovely leather-like material that’s soft and comfy and wipes down easily, making it still a breeze to push with bags and children on your hands!
Hauck Pushchair Runner
The Runner is designed for active parents who are eager to get outside and explore. The large pneumatic wheels can be used on field and forest paths. The front wheel can be locked and swivels to increase the flexibility. The stroller also comes with 5-point safety harness with a front bar that keeps your child secure on all journeys. The parking brake will keep the stroller stationary as you take a break. The comfortable seat is easy to recline to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy opens up with netting to ensure maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to fit mom or dad.
If you’re planning short jogs or a hike that lasts a while The Runner will be there to accompany you on your journeys with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee an unhurried ride. The front wheel is lockable to provide more stability on narrow streets and crowded sidewalks and the stroller folds up easily to fit into car boot spaces and storage areas.
Some parents have found the Runner 2 to be a bit more difficult to maneuver than its predecessor, and the locking mechanism is less user-friendly (requiring two buttons on either side of the push bar). The handlebars are a bit higher than those of some competitors, which means they may not be suitable for smaller parents. However, this stroller is sturdy and versatile and should be considered by active families.

The Pace is a great option from Red Kite, an affordable British brand that prides itself on making simple and well-designed essentials for parents. The new Pace comes with some amazing design features, like a rose-gold shade on the hood, chassis, and stroller trims that really distinguish it from. The stroller and car seat fabrics are fashionable in tan, grey, and cream. You can also add handles made of leather and a bumper bar to match.
The stroller seat can be used from birth until a maximum weight of 22kg. It converts easily into a reversible 2-in-1 position, either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat features multiple lie-back positions, softly padded legs rests and an extended sun canopy with zip-off sections that are concealed, a viewing see-through flap, and retractable visor.
What’s more, when it’s folded, the Pace is 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which means it passes for hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair, among others. It’s also simple to collapse, with two buttons on the handlebar’s opposite side that just need to be pressed in and then pop out.
Bugaboo Fox 5
Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair Bugaboo’s newest Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis, with a shorter wheel-distance, makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tried it out alongside my two kids — an infant and an eight-week old — across rocky pavements along woodland paths, grassy trails and even cobblestones.
The puncture-proof wheels are huge — 22cm and 30cm — which means they can handle lots of different terrains. They also have an easy flap that opens or closes to let more air to enter should you need it this is a nice feature. It’s slightly larger than most pushchairs, yet doesn’t feel heavy or bulky when you are pushing it over bumpy surfaces.
The fabric for the seat is machine washable, and the faux leather frames and grips are easy to clean. It’s also a lot quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt safe using it on busy city streets. It has built-in accessory points so you can attach footmuffs and parasols and also changing bags or snack trays, and even snack trays. The hood can be used to block out rain and wind, however it’s not waterproof. It’s a single pram but you can add their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child some extra leg room. The bassinet took around 20 minutes to set up and about the same amount of time to convert it into an actual seat.
